Sunday, 27 January 2008
marked the most recent annual banquet for the Valley Forge Region.
held at the Washington Crossing Inn, it was, as we've come to anticipate,
a rousing success.However, it was
more than that: this particular turnout represented the last in a series
coordinated by Barbara Coleman
(she will be succeeded in this endeavor by
Andrea Jacoby,
effective immediately). Barbara, the VFR as a whole owes you a
massive debt of thanks for all you've done over these past many years in
coordinating this annual event, whether at this most recent venue or
another location, and whether it's been held at night or at noon.
The banquet was the
highlight of the year. Almost 50 people attended. We had
a beautiful private area, the food and service were excellent and the
camaraderie we all felt makes our club special and unique.
Awards were presented to some very deserving and special members in
appreciation for outstanding service to the Valley Forge Region, Cadillac
& LaSalle Club:
Andy & Andrea Jacoby
- Andy: secretary two terms, car show coordinator, more.
Andrea:
"other secretary", election, ballots, mailing, more!
Barbara & Bud Coleman
- Barbara: membership, sunshine, tours, activities, annual banquet,
endless! Bud: past board member, membership.
Don & Brenda Miller -
Don: president, treasurer, seminars, tours, activities. Brenda: Goddess,
membership, treasurer. Both endless!
Joe Mosteller
- Treasurer two terms, a great job!
SPECIAL THANKS AND GIFT: Jack & Nancy Hotz - Appreciation for the
many 7-days-a-week and many long hours - for the coming Grand National.
A VERY SPECIAL AWARD: Lew Howells
- "VFR founding & charter
member. First president 1975-82. In recognition and appreciation for
your dedication and service to the formation of the Valley Forge Region of
the Cadillac-LaSalle Club". Please note: Without Lew we probably
would not even know each other and not be here today!
MORE ON THE BANQUET:
Nancy Hotz
conducted her annual quiz;
Richard Sills
discussed the CLC and museum on a national level;
Rob
Robison conducted the famous "brown bag gift exchange".
I
think I could go on and on about our members and the banquet and
afternoon. Thanks to
Andrea Jacoby, for the "fishy" flowers for
the tables and thanks to Nancy, Richard and Rob for your contributions.
