The weather forecast for the end of the week ending
Friday, 16 May, was none too good. Miraculously, Friday's rain gave
way to a clear, near-perfect spring Saturday for this second version of a
city car show.
Just as they had in 2007, Ron Hux and the entire
staff of Delaware Cadillac spared nothing to provide a first-class venue
for this, the VFR's lone dealer show for 2008. Part of that effort:
an e-mail blast and a postcard mailing preceding the event, which combined
to pay major dividends. No fewer than 39 cars showed up. That
total exceeded the inaugural by roughly half a dozen, and included no
fewer than 16 day-of-show registrations. The region picked up two
more members on the spot, and has started recruiting a few more (thanks,
Delaware Caddy Club, for coming out and providing some much-needed
examples of contemporary Cadillacs to the show field.)
